Recreating History

Golden Arrow Research
Research a World War II Veteran: http://www.goldenarrowresearch.com/historical-research.php

We are on-site at the National Archives. We use alternate records to reconstruct the service history of individual veterans whose records were lost in the fire. About 90 percent of the Army records of WWII Veterans were destroyed in the 1973 fire. When these folks write to the government asking for their loved one’s service record they receive a letter saying that there is nothing there. This is where most people give up. While the service record is lost, there are still a great many alternate records available pertaining to individuals out there. Most importantly are the Army daily unit records. Using these we can trace the steps of individual men through their career uncovering a lot of exciting info that would otherwise be lost forever due to the fire.
