Mail Call

Nothing raises moral more than a letter from home. These mail boxes were prevalent throughout the theaters of war. They were used to sort the mail and then to distribute it to the various soldiers.

General Patton’s headquarters had a mail trailer where mail was separated from the outgoing and incoming mail.

There was always a crown at mail call. This was taken in France in 1944as the 517 Parachute detachment collected their mail in France in August of 1844.
